National incentives

From 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2024, employers may be eligible for financial assistance if they employ an Australian apprentice in a priority occupation. This helps with hiring, training and retention.

Key facts

  • Wage subsidies are available for employers in priority occupations
  • A Hiring incentive is available for employers of apprentices completing an apprentice in an occupation that doesn’t qualify for the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List
  • Apprentices may be eligible for The Australian Apprenticeship Training Support Payment
  • Employers claiming incentives for an apprentice or trainee who commenced before 1 July 2022 will continue to be supported through the Australian Apprenticeships Incentives Program.
